Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options. Acer is doing customers a great diservice by not putting the OS on their download tap that says OS in support. I cannot get the laptop to boot to the Windows disc. I was able to find an ISO. Then they could not gouge people for insane ammounts of money for recovery disks for something freely downloadable on the web.
It sounds like this was a company laptop, since it had the Pro version of windows and a locked down bios. The hard drive is also probably encrypted and will need to be replaced if you don't have the code. I am certain it is not a stolen machine.
My friend is a 20 year veteran of the company she works for. It may have been their laptop, but it was most certainly not stolen. Microsoft tells me to contact the supplier. But windows xp is most famous and much use operating system.
Start menu in this windows is totally changed. Search system is also changes and new look. I bought an Acer laptop last week and it came loaded with Vista Home Basic very cheap laptop. Anyway, it's now dual boot and the partition I put Xubuntu on was already there when I bought the computer.
Now I'm thinking of ditching Vista and its 12gb recovery partition altogether but I feel that as I paid for it I am legally entitled to it. Or does it have to be the original Acer OEM copy. If you can find a disc, you can download a copy from the following link and use that to create the all in one disc. Let me see if i have this right you wnat a copy of the recovery media for the acer one on a usb flash drive just found this with the help of google.
Keep in mind that running the recovery will restore the computer to the way it was when you first brought it. Then you have to try some Windows password remove tool that support remove Windows password with USB! Yes, unless you have recovery disks, you need that partition. I've had my Acer Aspire for a good 7 months now, everything's good, every 1 month I tend to restore back to factory settings so it stays in mint condition.
Now I had bought the Aspire a year ago and the new Aspire about three months ago.
