Safest way would be to find someone locally and do the transaction on-site but with this particular item it'll be tough. It's always a possibility but I'd much rather sell it online. Paypal can I think retract your received money if they receive a complaint from the buyer that you didn't deliver the item. I've never had this happen to me and it's a lot of hassle and risk for the buyer to do that if you deny it. I think Paypal will moderate and communicate with you both if there is a complaint from either party, rather than just take your money without telling you.
